Our Foundation’s goal is to help build schools for younger children living in remote areas within South East Asia that would under normal circumstances not have any access to education.
Since the beginning of the Foundation in early 2007, we have been solely working with a wonderful organisation - Child's Dream. This very well-regarded charity was brought to life by co-founder’s Marc Jenni and Daniel Siegfried who left banking to pursue their shared goal - to help underprivileged children in the Mekong Sub-Region (which includes countries such as Myanmar, Lao, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam). This region is at the core of many humanitarian crises such as human trafficking, drug smuggling, child prostitution and the spread of HIV/AIDS.
The partnership with Child's Dream has allowed us to focus on raising monies which are then directed towards schools identified by the Child’s Dream project teams that require funding. Once we have selected the school to be sponsored, the relevant Child's Dream project team work with the community of the school to manage and oversee construction to ensure sufficient building standards are met and to prevent any corruption infecting the project. The Child's Dream project teams also regularly visit the schools after construction is completed to follow up with the students and teachers on the progress of the school and any issues that may have arisen.
To guage how important your donation is and how each $ makes a difference - for as little as US$100, 800 new notebooks can be purchased for the students whilst a donation of $500 can be used to build a brand new playground. Right through to the end of the spectrum where $50,000 USD can fund the construction of a whole primary school teaching over 130 children.
